A wonderful weekend.

Posted by Mike On August - 7 - 2008

August is a crazy month where closed hunts are concerned. Companies are rushing to do their hunts before the Puasa month.

I had a great time doing a hunt for a group of mostly first timers over the last weekend. The hunt was also of a family day outing for them, so we had the whole gang; babies, toddlers, teenagers and staff who were eager to experience new things. rbsday-021blog.jpg
What I like most about doing hunts like this is the friendships that come out of it. Most of these hunts are about 25-30 teams, about 100 people. Small enough for me to go around and say hi to most of the participants. Listen to their feedback, their hilarious hunt stories, laugh over silly answers and share our life stories and experiences. Many of those I met at hunts like this have over the years become firm friends.

In a hunt like this, the emphasis is no longer on the treasure hunt questions alone but more on making sure that the whole event runs smoothly and safely. 80-90% of the time and effort goes into planning the logistic, safety, comfort of the participants etc. Mostly, it’s about taking the group for a holiday, a break from their work and making sure they have a fun and memorable holiday.

My next hunt assignment will also the inaugural hunt for the client. In between doing all these hunts in August, I’m so looking forward to participating in at least 2 hunts.

See you guys on the road.

    Mike,

You might want to consider using your flash light when taking pictures in dark places?

By the way, feel free to drop some tough questions this Saturday. At least my team has a fighting chance to beat your team lah!… hehehe

we’re first timers for the hunt last week, and boy, it was sure fun! Maybe I’d try an open hunt (and join my seasoned friends) some day. :-)
