Merdeka Treasure Hunt Result

Aug 17th, 2008 by Mike | Comments (3)

I have not ask Raj, the Coc for this hunt but I won’t be surprise if all the 10 top placings or even more teams scored full points for the treasure hunt questions. I will post the questions here later and you can see why. All the 4 top placings dropped the same 2 questions for the morning session. At the tie-breaker session, the 4 teams had to list down the horoscope in the right order.

Total score :- 111 points

  1. 109 - Joehari, Phillip Karuppiah, Chong CH, Raj Kumar
  2. 109 - KK Chai, Margaret Sha, Vincent Woo
  3. 109 - Md Razif, Dharmataksiah, Johan Salul, Hanna Hamizah
  4. 109 - Yeap Heng Boon, Pava, Chandra, Michael Pang
  5. 109 - Claire Chin, Julie Tan, Wong, Teck Koon.
  6. 107 - Kok Seng, Dato’ Ramesh, Chong Foo Seong, Kong Yew.
  7. 106 - Ruben Chellia and team
  8. 106 - Steven Arockiaraj, Sumita and team
  9. 105 - Sakthivel, K.Eeswaran, Venkateswaran and T.Buvanes
  10. 105 - Haji Suhaimi, P.Theresa, Kauselya and A.Gowri

Whenever I clerk a hunt, I try my best to have a good mix of easy to average to tough to very tough questions. The idea is to give a certain degree of challenge to hunters of varying levels of abilities/experience.

However, it is not easy to define what’s “easy” or “average” or “tough” questions. New hunters often complain when the questions are too “tough”.

If indeed all the hunt questions were correctly answered by all the top 10 teams, that must be one of the very rare occasions that it’s happened. If the new hunters can also solve ‘em all, it must have taken perhaps half of the allocated hunting time for the master teams to reach the finish station. As far as I am concerned, I won’t be happy if there is no challenge in the questions; and I can guess that many of the master hunters were unhappy with this hunt.

But I want to ask the new hunters whom I suppose were able to answer all, or at least most, of the questions in this hunt:

Are you happier now that you’re able to score the same (or almost the same) as the masters?
