Hmm… Selling the camera at RM1,088 eh? Those who are interested to buy the remember to check out the deal at Sony 1st before doing so. I’m sure RM1,299 is a better deal at Sony Centre!
Nice bargain, VK Chong!

Dear Tubber,
Sorry that you feel offended about our offer.
You need to understand that we are the seller not the buyer ie. we don’t go around shopping for the best deals. We were told by Sony Centre during the launch that they would be retailing it at RM1299.
Well, if you are genuinely interested, and you find that you can get a better deal elsewere, let us know and we can try to better that (provided that it has not been sold).
Cheers!

Firstly, wishing all muslim fellow hunters and visitors to this blog a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Just to mention that it was not really a senyap-senyap hunt as it was widely publisized over MYFM radio channel 101.8fm in the week leading to the event.
The Sony Cyber-shot Skinny T Mall Hunt 2008 held at Berjaya Times Square was held in conjunction with the launch of the brand new Sony cybershot DSC T77 @ Skinny T digital camera. http://corp.sony.com.my/cybershot/main.asp
Participation was by way of entry through an earlier MYFM radio contest and subsequently on-line registration at sony.com.my. It was initally for the first 20 teams only but subsequently expanded to 40 teams and many more were turned away. The on-line registration was activated on Wednesday morning and Sony had to close it on Thursday (late afternoon I think) due to overwhelming response. The stated closing time for the on-line registration was 12pm on Friday!! The advertisement in the national papers, theStar, came out only on Friday and again on Saturday I was told as it carried the main event ie. the launch of the Skinny T. There were lots of disappointed eager participants as by then the on-line registration was already closed. However, noted many still turned up at BTS to try their luck. Also there were teams who signed up but was unaware that they did not qualify as they were beyond the 40th team to register. Those first 40 teams were notified that they were successful by the rep from Sony on Friday evening. The overwhelming response was expected as the Grand prize was 1 VAIO + 2X Skinny T and 5 consolation prizes of 2x Skinny T per team!!!! The Skinny T DSC T77 is priced at RM1,299 each!!!!!
The hunt COC was YS Khong. 20 questions spread over 5 floors in BTS, Qs were indicated as to which floor they can be found but not in sequence. In addition there were 4 photo quest. A riddle was given and teams had to use the Sony digital cameras provided to them to snap the answers (signboards/pictures) and have them printed out at the mobile print stations at the Sony promotion/exhibition area. The answers for the photo quest could be found at any of the 5 floors to add to the difficulty and excitement. There was only one simple treasure question. All teams were given 2 hours to complete the hunt and tasks with a time penalty allowance of 15 minutes. Each Q, pic and treasure was worth 4 points each.
Overall, the hunt Qs on surface looked straight forward but was tricky and somewhat cryptic, however there was only one 4 letter anagram question and lots of general knowledge type of questions. It was a challenge and not a stroll in the park for the 2 ‘regular’ teams. Lots of running, anxiety and anxious moments. All the questions also had the translation in mandarin to cater for the section of participants via the MYFM radio contest entry.
The two ‘regular’ teams took the top 2 positions. Both tied with a perfect score of 100!! The winning team came in 26 minutes ahead of the other.
1. 100 - Liew Kok Seng & Sam Rahman
2. 100 - Vincent Woo & VK Chong
3. 76 - Chow Weng Seng & partner (Team 22)
4. 76 - Steven Koh & Koh Yang Kin (Team 36)
5. 72 - Team 12
6.* 68 - Team 5
*Three teams were tied at 68pts
Here’s what some other participants thought of the hunt…

lol….it does look like a scam if you judge it base on the result. But after joining some hunts, we knew that this is nothing unusual since those winners are the masters in hunting.
Congrats to winner.
