New Masters

10/10/08 Update: Tay (Teoh?) Seok May inducted.

In view of the coming theSun Hunt, TOS updated the masters list with 11 new names. 4 of them are last year’s theSun Open category winners. In an interview with them a few days after the hunt, they shared about the effort it takes to be champions.

MP: From 78th to 1st. How did that happened?

SD: We started to hunt as a proper team in Feb 2006. The Sun Hunt 2006 was only our 5th hunt as a team. Since then, we have participated in more than 40 hunts, winning some and losing more. We have taken it all in our stride and all the practice, hard work and determination over the past 1.5 years have been fruitful.

Read the full interview in the old blog here

Others making it to the list are 2 hunters from Sabah and the rest are CoCsĀ  including this guy who now owes me a coke ;-)

Any other hunters whom should be on that list but are not? Last year fellow hunters spotted a few and TOS swiftly updated the list accordingly.

Hmm.. This is not a witch hunt nor pointing fingers.

Just want to clarify what is the criteria to be in TOS master list?

None of the winners from Time Out Challenge to Melaka 2007, Jolly Rogers ( Teng Weng Chiat, Goh Leep Sean, Yeoh Ban Lye, Yew Siew Kheng ) are promoted to the TOS master list.

This time last year, one of the winners from Time Out Challenge to Lumut 2006 was promoted to the master list because getting first in the hunt.

Double standard? Is it because of the team is from Penang, the COC have no ideas whether they deserve to be in the master list, and the COC have better idea on the hunter from KL?

I thought all TOS winners in any of their open hunts are straightaway promoted to master list.

Hi Michael, any idea who are the participants? Or is this premature as the list is still being worked on.

simone, they usually publish the team list closer to the hunt date.

TOS update the list once a year usually before theSun hunt and not immediately after each of their public hunt so they do inadvertently miss out a few names like the one mentioned by ’sunhunters” (if “sunhunterz” is accurate). this pointers from hunters can help to build a better/complete list.

having said that, we must remember that the list is by TOS, for their own usage and not by hunters, agreed by all, with perfectly defined criteria. so while we can propose, TOS dispose
