It’s a wrap for 2008

Royal Selangor Flying Club is celebrating their 75th Anniversary this year and  last weekend I did a treasure hunt for members of the club as part of a one day carnival.  Besides the hunt , there were display of aircrafts and air shows.

Q: Sounds like shelters for housing or repairing aircraft

Q: Hotel…

Q: I can make the movement of an airplane under its own power on the surface of an airport secure

With every different hunt, I learned a little bit more about the organiser’s  industry, world, lingos, etc. For example, I have always referred the airport in Sungai Besi as either TUDM airport or Sungai Besi airport. I didn’t know its official name is Simpang Airport.

It was also my last hunt for this very exciting year.

In & Out of Sector

Posted by Mike On December - 16 - 2008

I have seen many newer hunters looking for answers at wrong places i.e signboards that are clearly out of sector. In those days, CoC especailly TAB used to take the trouble to explain this concept of in sector and what is out of sector.  Somehow COC has stop explaining this in their briefing these days. Perhaps they think that the concept of  “answers must been visually AND physically within sector” is a common knowledge to all hunters.

Well it’s not.  I remember one hunt which I took part in last year or early this year where the answer was clearly “out of sector”  The question was not particularly tough but we wasted a lot of time there. Eventually we got the answer and later when I indicated the out of sector issue to the CoC, he seem to think that there was nothing wrong with it.

“blogce5nt” who was affected by this recently, wrote a very detailed explanation on this subject.  Please take some time to read it here
